British Journal of Photography - Book Review
December 24, 2022The British Journal of Photography have reviewed an advanced copy of ‘The Point of the Deliverance’. In a thoughtful analysis of the book, Greg Thomas writes:
“Alex Boyd’s The Point of Deliverance documents an emotionally and historically loaded journey across the Atlantic edges of Britain through wet plate collodion. Liquid silver pools like a crashing wave across the opening image of Alex Boyd’s The Point of the Deliverance, a set of wet-plate collodion photographs created on journeys along the coastlines of Ireland, the Hebrides, and the Scottish Highlands over the last decade. It’s a sequence which, as artist Will McLean notes in his preface, holds an extraordinary “mystic quality,” expressing an intense personal vision while compressing the deep histories of each site.”
